Product description
Script for converting Corona Physical Material to Corona Legacy Material. The converter is suitable for CoronaPhysicalMtl materials for Corona Render versions starting from Corona Render 7.
Installation.
1. Drag the .mcr script into the 3D Max window.
2. Customize – Category - PhysicaltoLegacy
Removal. Manually delete the .mcr file from the usermacro folder in 3dsMax.
What to convert: "Only selected materials", "Only selected objects", "Everything in scene".

- After conversion, the original names are preserved.
- Parameters that have the same functionality in both engines (maps, checkboxes, sliders, modes) are fully transferred from Physical to Legacy.
- Parameters that do not have the same functions in both engines are transferred considering the physical properties of the materials, closely approximated to the original, with full preservation of maps, checkboxes, sliders.

Materials with properties Clearcoat Layer, Sheen layer, Metalness map, Refraction, Thin Shell require verification against the original after conversion.
- Metal/Non-metal mode. Conversion depends on the selected metal/non-metal mode in the metalnessMode rollout.
- Metalness. When the Metalness map is connected, a Corona Layered Mtl is created, and the metalness map goes into the mask.
- Roughness. Roughness/Glossiness modes are taken into account.
- Clearcoat Layer. When the function is enabled, a Corona Layered Mtl is created. ClearCoat properties go into the top layer of lacquer. Blending mode is 30%.
- Sheen layer. A FallOff map is connected to the Diffuse Map.
- Thin Shell. When Thin Shell is enabled, the color and maps from the ThinAbsorbtion Corona Physical rollout go into the color and maps of Refraction CoronaLegacy. When Thin Shell is disabled, the color and maps from the Refraction Corona Physical rollout go into the color and maps of Refraction CoronaLegacy.
- IOR. Ior/Specular modes are taken into account.
- Properties of CoronaPhysical, such as ComplexIor, EdgeColor are not transferred.
