Designer and artist Elena Salmistraro draws inspiration from the historical period between the 1940s and 1960s. In those years, the world was a victim of the Cold War and was afraid of an imminent nuclear catastrophe, but despite the terrible climate, the public found the strength to imagine the best future.
Bold and graphic forms associated with the fear of the atom were constantly repeated in the artistic expression of that time as a symbol of the common will to change the fate of people and conquer the all-consuming sense of fear.
The New Atomic Age Collection by Elena Salmistraro reflects this. neo-tribal and post-atomic symbols through precious inlays and innovative resin carvings on marble surfaces.
