The two sided, handcarved lenses are held in bronze hardware that mimics the idea of a clasp opening and closing. This piece further emphasizes my interest in creating atmospheric lighting that has a meditative sculptural quality. At night, the illumination is distorted through the optical properties of the lens, projecting a prismatic silhouette on the wall and ceiling, hovering weightless, much like an aura itself. No matter the time of the day there is something hypnotic about staring at the filament through the distorted body of the glass.
