A collection of modern vases that preserves and interprets the essence of the Venetian heritage. Sestiere commemorates traditional glasswork and creatively rethinks it, paying homage to Venice.
The vase is made in the form of a blown glass ball, which is almost entangled in a network of cords. Each cord, or "morisa" in the Murano tradition, is applied by hand to the outer surface of the vase, giving it a pleasing imperfect effect. The morices are embellished with 'rigadine', a typical striped motif lagoons.
Vase and cord, two completely different languages of glass, coexist harmoniously, creating an unparalleled partnership between form, function and craftsmanship. Each vase becomes a unique piece, a visible and tangible expression of craftsmanship.
